The children had a blast which did not involve any electric devices but flying kites, going for walks, hide and seek, hula hooping... even adults participated - great hilarity!
Things to do
Ditch the car and enjoy all the scenery, wildlife and history that makes this part of Strathearn so special.
There are lovely walks and bike trails across the hill behind the site and along the old railway line that runs through the estate. Bikes can be hired nearby in Auchterarder. Make sure to pack your binoculars as there's plenty of wildlife to spot including deer, osprey and red squirrels.
On site, kids will enjoy exploring and den building in the wood, fishing in the burn and following our home-made nature trail.
Depending on the time of year, there are plenty of blaeberries, brambles and chanetrelles to forage for (though we wouldn't advise mushroom picking unless you know what you're looking for!)
On rainy days, the barn is the perfect place to seek refuge, with cosy wood burning stove, hot drinks and plenty of books and board games.
The historic Tullibardine Chapel (featured in Outlander) is just a five minute walk away.
The famous Gleneagles Hotel is our next door neighbour with a huge variety of activities on offer, including golfing, clay pigeon shooting, horse riding, as well as their fabulous spa.
