Near and far

Auchterder, Crieff and Muthill are all within a few miles radius and offer a host of quirky independent shops, cafes and galleries to potter around. Don't miss the Crieff's famous Strathearn Gallery.

Described as the gateway to the Highlands, this part of Perthshire is also a perfect base - or stop off - on your journey further north with Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park (35 minutes), Killin and Loch Tay (1 hour) and Pitlochry (50 mins) all within easy reach.

If history is your thing, Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument (20 mins) are two of Scotland's most famous monuments and offer stunning hilltop views. Or Drummond Castle Gardens (15 mins) with its impressive formal gardens makes a lovely place to visit.

Family trips

For animal lovers, Blair Drummond Safari Park (25 mins) is not to be missed.  It's a whole day out with over 300 animals, safari drive through and a jurassic style dinosaur park to explore.   Auchingarrich Wildlife Park (30 mins) ia another great option whatever the weather with indoor and outdoor activities and the opportunity to meet and pet some of the animals.

Water babies will love Perth Leisure Pool (20 mins) with its flumes, toddler slide, bubble beds and outdoor lagoon. Under 5s go free. In the summer months the outdoor splash park at Helix Park and Kelpies  (35 mins) makes for a magical day out.

For kids who love climbing and running around, there are some great parks in the area. MacRosty Park in Crieff (20 mins) has a lovely children's play area while Glen's Adventure Park at Crieff Hydro (20 mins) features a huge wooden fort along with ziplines, pedal carts and swings.

If you're looking for adventure, we are just 5 minutes from Skydive Strathallan, the largest skydiving centre in Scotland. They train 1500 people a year for the ultimate thrill!

Next door at Gleneagles, the equestrian centre can arrange hacks for more experienced riders or horse riding lessons for little ones.
