Booking Terms
 
Booking
The Guest who makes the booking is deemed to have agreed to these Terms and Conditions, will be responsible for all persons included in the booking and should ensure that they are all aware of these Terms and Conditions
 
Payment
For bookings made more than 30 days before arrival, a deposit of 30%of the total cost of the holiday is required. The balance is due 30 days before the holiday commences.  For bookings made less than 30 days before arrival, the total amount is payable in full on booking.  If the balance of any rental is not paid by the due date the booking will be treated as cancelled and the deposit retained.
 
Cancellation by the Guest
Once the holiday is booked the Guest has entered into a legally binding contract.  If the Guest cancels, for whatever reason (including medical and weather related) then no refund of the deposit will be due.  If the cancellation is made within 30 days of the booking no refund of the full balance is due.  A holiday cancellation protection plan should be taken out to cover forced cancellations.
 
Cancellations must be notified in writing (including email) to the Owner immediately.  The Owner will endeavour to re-let the property and if successful may at their discretion allow the guest to transfer to alternate dates and/or accommodation for a £20 administration fee plus any other expenses incurred in re-letting.  The expenses incurred in re-letting will be at the discretion of the Owner.
 
Cancellations due to COVID restrictions
 
If the country is in full lockdown the owner will offer alternative dates at the same rate that are suitable for both the owners and the guests in the first instance.  If that is not possible the guest will be offered a full refund minus an admin fee of £25.

If the cancellation is due to a case of self isolation, or any illness, you must ensure that you are covered by your insurance, as this is an instance outwith our control, and you will not be due a refund.


 
Arrival and Departure
Guests are welcome to check in from 3.00pm. In order that the property can be thoroughly cleaned and prepared for the next arrival, departure time is 10am.
 
Occupancy
The maximum number in your accommodation must not exceed the number stated on the booking form.  If it is found that more people than agreed are using the property this will be considered a breach of contract and the holidaymaker and their party will be asked to leave immediately without any refund.
 
 Dogs
Dogs are welcome in all tented accommodation but not within the Shepherd’s Hut or Railway Carriage. We ask that they are house trained, kept under proper control and not allowed on the furniture or beds.  They must not be left unattended in any of the properties.  All dog waste must be collected and disposed of.  When out walking with the property you must ensure that dogs are kept on a lead. They must not be allowed to disturb livestock, deer or game birds.
 
Children
Guests must accept responsibility for the supervision and safety of their children at all times whilst visiting Muiredge.  All children (a person under 16 years of age) must be accompanied by an adult and must be supervised by an adult at all times.
 
Cleaning/Care of Property
The Guest is responsible for leaving the accommodation as they found it, in good order and in a clean condition, otherwise a cleaning charge will be levied.  Accidents happen, we ask that any breakages or damage (accidental or otherwise) should be reported immediately to the Muiredge Reception. Failure to do this may result in you being charged for any breakages or damage.  Any missing inventory from the property on your departure may also be charged for
 
Smoking
Smoking is not permitted in any of our properties and flat fee of £200 will be made if these is any evidence of smoking within the property
 
Fireworks
Fireworks of any description including Chinese Lanterns are not permitted
 
Nuisance
Guests should not cause nuisance or annoyance to occupants of any nearby property.  If, in the opinion of the owner, any person is not suitable to continue their occupation of the property because of unreasonable behaviour, damage, noise or nuisance to other parties, the contract may be treated by the owner as discharged and the owner may repossess the property immediately. The guest will remain liable for the whole cost of rental and no refund shall be due.
 
Complaints
Every endeavour is made to ensure your stay with us is memorable for all the right reasons. However, we do recognise that from time to time things do go wrong. In these circumstances it is the responsibility of the holiday maker to make any such problems known to the property owner or their representative immediately it becomes apparent thereby giving the property owner the opportunity to correct the situation.  Unless this procedure is followed, no subsequent claim will be entertained.
 
Liability
The owner cannot accept responsibility for any material loss or damage of property, vehicles or vehicles contents.  We advise valuables should not be left in properties unattended.
 
Keys
There will be a £20.00 charge should a guest lose or damage keys.  Failure to return keys on departure could also incur the same charge
 
Force Majeure
The owner cannot accept responsibility or liability for any alterations, delay or cancellation or any other loss or damage caused by war, civil strife, terrorist action, industrial disputes, fire, sickness, bad weather, epidemics, acts of any government or public authority or any other event outside our control
 
Waiver
The failure of the owner to enforce or exercise, at any time or for any period of time, any term of, or any right pursuant to this agreement does not constitute and shall not be construed as a waiver of such term or right.
 
Extreme Weather
In the case of an amber weather warning for excessive wind, we maintain the right to cancel the holiday in order that tents can be taken down. Alternative dates will be offered to the guests at the same rate, and if not suitable, a refund will be offered.
